Why Pulsar 180F Sucks- A Critical Analysis
Since the design rehash formula worked wonders for a motorcycle which has already captured a big portion of the 150cc market. It should definitely work for a bike which hasn’t even begun competing on the same level as its siblings. So Bajaj decided to use the design of the Pulsar 220F and put the 180cc engine in it. The sad part isn't that they are diluting the image of Pulsar 220F, but they are also doing the right thing economically.

For Bajaj, Pulsar 150 is the ultimate cash cow. The company has refused to change the bike for almost 8 years now. The bike only receives a graphical update every now and then to keep it afloat in the market. So the question we have to ask ourselves is ‘does it makes sense to buy the Pulsar 150 in 2018?’ Let’s dig deeper and find out.
Have you ever wanted to build a bike all by yourself? Well, this guy made his Pulsar NS 200 from the ground up. It is always a satisfying experience to watch a bike slowly take shape out of a bunch of parts. The owner of the Youtube Channel “Jeet Bhaskar” is an incredible mechanic who builds his own Pulsar NS 200. Watch the video to see his talent.
This time, however, the company is serious in bringing in a totally new generation of Pulsar because it has been more than a decade since the Pulsar series went through a metamorphosis and the current market is evolving with at an unprecedented rate. So, before these Pulsars see the light of the day, we would like to name a list of features which we want to see on them.
1 crore of a single brand Motorcycle is the most joyous occasion for any manufacturer. It marks their proficiency in understanding market demand and delivering the consumer-friendly product. When I say “Consumer friendly” I am referring to the huge number of people who still buy the Pulsar 150 for their daily commute. Pulsar 150 sells for Bajaj but it is somehow keeping the company from continuing their innovation cycle, by this time, we should have been driving the next generation of Pulsar 150, anyways that's a topic for another time. Today we are focusing on how disappointing the new Pulsar Ad is.
It makes sense to focus on Pulsar 150 as it is the best selling Pulsar for Bajaj but instead of offering true mechanical and design updates, the company is just slapping a new paint job every now and then. With the 150 cc being crowded by much-advanced Gixxers, Hornets and Apaches, Bajaj is trying to literally milk every drop of sale which they can get out of Pulsar 150. It is time to let go of the old Pulsar and here’s why.
The bike launched by Bajaj in 2012 was way ahead of its time. So much so that the company decided to stop its production and relaunch it in 2017. I am talking about the Pulsar 200 NS. It is the most successful concept to have ever come out of Bajaj’s R&D. The bike sits on a perimeter platform which has extensively been used in Pulsar RS 200, AS 200, NS 160, AS 150 (NS = Naked sport, AS = Adventure sport, RS = Race sport) and Dominar 400. Despite branching off to so many genres, the NS 200 still remains the most preferred bike in the sports series of Bajaj motorcycles and rightly so, Let me explain why.
It’s the battle of the Naked motorcycles. Pulsar 200 NS has been in our market, almost unchanged since 2012. It is only challenged by its foreign sibling the KTM Duke 200. On the side of the Japanese, the FZ-25 represents the collective stride of Yamaha’s R&D which has given us a specially designed bike for India. So without wasting any time, let’s compare these two and settle the score.
Every bike out there is getting equipped with ABS but still, people get confused between non-ABS, Single channel ABS and Dual channel ABS. We have done a separate article about the whole topic and you can check it out here. The new Pulsar 150 initially looked like the old model with just a rear disc. On close inspection, it's clear that this isn't the case. There are quite a lot of changes in the new model which will not only make it look good but also perform better. Let’s take a look at them.
