The Honda Cliq is another uniquely designed product from the house of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) after their NAVi. The Cliq is targeted towards the youth of our nation and it has been designed in such a way that the different looking scooter can be used as multipurpose vehicle.
Design and Looks: The design of the Honda Cliq is of a scooter inspired by the design cues taken from Honda Dio. The front fascia of the Cliq gets a body mounted headlight assembly, whereas the handlebar is featured as naked member. The Cliq comes featured with wider footboard and fairly large under seat capacity to justify the tag of its urban commuter which can be used for day to day basis.
The rear portion of the Honda Cliq looks inspired by the design of Honda Navi and it bears a plane Jane taillight assembly along with orthodox blinkers. The seat featured at the Cliq is large to accommodate both rider and pillion quite comfortably. The grab rail is pretty basic and it comes in the form of tubular steel and devoid of body color matching.
Engine and Performance: Honda has plonked the tried and tested 109.19cc air cooled HET engine at the Cliq, the same engine is already been doing great at the models like Activa, NAVi and Dio. The CVT drive Honda engine is capable of producing 8.2 Ps of power at 7000 Rpm and peak torque of 8.9 Nm at 5500 Rpm. The top speed of the Honda Cliq is somewhere between 80-90 Kmph and with a small fuel tank of 3.5 L the scooter can go up to 150 kilometer in full tank. One can expect better performance as the Cliq tips the scale at only 102 Kg.
Meter Console & Features: The analogue meter console is a direct lift from the Activa and it comes featured with Speedometer, Odometer, Fuel gauge and tell tail lights. The instrument console is bright and comes in white color making it legible in all sorts of light conditions. The Cliq is equipped with patented ‘Combi Brakes’ and the braking duties have been given to drum brakes at both ends. The Honda Cliq comes shod with 10 inch tubeless tyres and the wheels are devoid of disc brake option and alloy wheels. There has been large boot space given under seat where a full face helmet can be kept. A mobile charging unit is also given under the seat and it comes at premium price.
Price and Mileage: The Honda Cliq comes in four different color options and it has been priced at INR 42,999/- (Ex, Showroom, Delhi). The scooter competes with in house Dio, NAVi and with the likes of Jupiter from other manufacturers. One can expect fuel efficiency of 42-45 kmpl in mixed riding conditions.
