2017 Czech GP Qualifying Report-
Marc Marquez takes pole while Rossi misses it out by a whisker

Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez had the best start to the second half of the season as he clinched a stunning pole position. Veteran master Valentino Rossi gave a nightmare to Marc, though he settled for a P2 start just nine hundredths of a second behind Marquez.

Fellow factory Honda rider Dani Pedrosa completes the front row of the grid at P3. At the end of FP4, Marquez was on the top of the time sheets followed by Jonas Folger and Valentino Rossi. Almost all the big names were straight into Q2, while Jonas Folger, Danilo Petrucci, and Andrea Iannone battled in Q1. Danilo Petrucci and Alvaro Bautista were at the top two and eventually went in for the Q2 session.

As the Q2 started off, Rossi went on the top on his first out lap. Marc Marquez then started his flying laps scraping his knees and elbows in every other corner. Maverick Viñales and Johann Zarco seemed to suffer a bit as they were not able to buy their target lap times. Meanwhile Andrea Dovizioso picked up his pace and ended up at P4 for tomorrow's race. Cal Crutchlow suffering with a minor back injury settled with a competitive P5 in the grid. Jorge Lorenzo managed to end up the Q2 session with a P6, who is followed by Movistar Yamaha newbie Maverick Viñales. Danilo Petrucci, Alvaro Bautista and Johann Zarco complete the top 10 of the grid. Aleix Espargaro had a hard blow as he crashed midway through the session, and starts the race at P11 followed by Loris Baz.

The race goes live from the Automotodrom Brno in Czech Republic at 5.30PM IST tomorrow. We expect a tight race at the front, with the top 6 riders involved in a fierce battle. Meanwhile stay tuned to BikesMedia for further updates on the 2017 MotoGP World Championship.
