Cramster Breezer RS Mesh Jacket Review

  • Jun 5, 2015
  • |   Comments
We all know that riding gears are the most important thing you need when you ride your bike. They save you from many undesired injuries that you may suffer in an event of crash. They even make you look cool and save you from pollutants, dust, rain and dirt etc. Cramster is a pretty old Indian riding gear brand we have in our country. There are many more indigenous riding gear manufacturers like Spartan Pro Gear(Aspida), Planet DSG, Zeus Riding Gears and many more.

But, I do have a soft and kind heart towards Cramster and Spartan Pro Gear because of the quality they have on offer at a very competitive price point than others. The jacket we are going to review today is the "Cramster Breezer RS" mesh all weather jacket. It is retailed at 5950 INR, comes with all C.E. certified armors and Mesh + Cordura as main fabric with 2 additional rain and winter liners. So there are various positives and negatives about this particular jacket, lets check it out: Looks & Styling

Being an entry level jacket, it wears 3 shades of black, grey and white which translates the overall looks of the jacket to give a premium and rich feel. There are 2 reflective piping used on the front and rear side of the jacket, so that you are visible to the on-coming and following traffic in low light conditions. There are Cordura panels on the impacts like the elbows, shoulders, and the back. The back has a foam embossed design done over it, that looks cool and differentiate the jacket from any casual everyday jacket. Protection & Fit

Breezer comes with all 5 C.E. certified armors and an abrasion resistance mesh and Cordura outer shell. The CE certified armors do appears to be strong enough and are pretty solid and flexible in comparison to the armors you get on the similarly priced Chinese jacket. Coming to fit, you get adjustments on the elbow and wrist to bring the elbow armors in place and keep the jacket intact to your waist, such that it doesn’t slide upwards in an event of a crash and the extra lower back padding comes into play. The ballistic nylon mesh used all over is hard and durable than what I’ve personally seen on the other products in this same price tag. The mesh offers pretty good ventilation in hot weather and you don’t sweat at all while riding. The abrasion resistance Cordura panels are present on the impact areas, in excess and give a feeling of added but quality associated protection. Everyday Usability

Breezer being a mesh jacket comes with 2 added rain and winter liner. The liners offered are not stand-alone garment type and thus can be used only with this particular jacket. But the liners have really closure at the torso providing the better resistance from the rain and cold. The "ykk" zippers used everywhere offers a decent feedback while using them. The zippers get additional insulation beneath them to aid the working of the liners. Advantages & Disadvantages
Pros

1. Very good quality materials used all over
2. Insulation from rain and cold is good but you get better insulation from these natural riding disturbances in the DSG Triton
3. All C.E. certified armors.
4. Distinct colours used, yet comes in 4 different colours.
5. You get a key loop on the sides.
6. Reflective piping at the front and at back
7. Ykk zippers used all over.
8. Liners attaches to the jacket sleeves by a simple tich-button loop.

Cons

1. The collar get neoprene lining but Velcro over it irritates sometimes.
2. The sleeve pullers restrict the use of full-gauntlet gloves for petite users.
3. There could’ve been one more adjuster at elbow.
4. The liners would’ve been stand-alone garment type (like SPG Icarus), they’d have offered better resistance to rain.
5. Last but most desired add-on is the few more pockets (waterproof too), the jacket doesn’t have any waterproof pocket.

**The Velcro on the collar tends to entangle with the inner mesh liner of the jacket

Verdict

The jacket being an impressive buy over the other available products in its price bracket has some flaws too, still a very decent buy at this price. If you want you can check out these products also- Rynox Air Gt, SPG Icarus, SPG Nemesis, SPG Atlas and DSG Evo, all these jackets are priced under 5950 INR. But it’s better to wear a protective jacket rather than a flimsy faux armor.

Do let us know, how you find this article? in the meanwhile we are coming up soon with an article on all riding jackets coming under 9k from the Indian riding gear manufacturers.
