  • Life As An Awkward Biker

Life As An Awkward Biker

A biker’s life can be a funny one sometimes. We have come across some mad bikers who refuse to lose and fight with the life as we know it. There are basically two type of bikers in the society. Those who can blend in perfectly, enjoying social lives. And then there are those who don’t really have a clue of how the society works. To really understand the later type, you need to dive deeper into life of a biker.

Meet Tom, a regular bloke like rest of us. He is crazy about bikes and everything that comes with them. Like rest of us he has a stable life too. A job and bike. Every day he goes to his office, thinking it will be a great day ahead. But all he ends up doing is something he doesn’t enjoy that much. Those social meetings where his colleagues talk about their jobs, new lives and about future investments. He couldn’t give a lesser dime about it. All he wants to do is talk about bikes and the adventures that makes him forget the fragile world. All the people think Tom has loads of money, he has an expensive bike, he travels a lot, and the adventures. He must be sitting on a gold mine for sure. But nobody notices the times he chose to not go to a party which was supposed to be the most happening party of the year. Nobody notices that he wears the same shirt he bought six months ago. Nobody notices the times he wanted to buy those new shoes but he didn’t. To be a travelling freak he sacrifices the materialistic things which are supposed to make one happier. To buy that spare part he tells his friends he’s fallen sick instead of telling them he don’t want to spend money on that new club just opened. Most of the time Tom finds himself thinking about his bike and the open road.

Tom has no clue how to act when he is around a huge group of people. No matter how much he likes that girl, he ends up talking about his bike with her. So much for being forever alone:p He finds other people dead boring. Who only talk about travelling and adventures but never actually do it. He is tired of hypocrisy, politics and the diplomacy people practice in this society to just belong. All his best friends ride bikes or have the same perspective about this world he lives in. Life is not easy for Tom at home. All the family thinks he’s a lunatic who is just wasting his life by wandering places on his bike. The constant mocking of his family about his life choices. About him leaving the biking and being a boring piece of human flesh. But that really doesn’t bother him much. What bothers him the most is him not being able to ride anytime he wants. He just wants to go away from this world and find peace on his two wheels. But he understands that life is not as simple as that. The madness about riding can only be fulfilled if he can earn his own bread.

There are Toms around us. We know some of them and then there are those who pass by us undetected. May be that is what finding a meaning of life means. Doing something that makes us more than happy. Something we give our lifetime to. When we get on the saddle, It all makes worth it.
