ScoutMyTrip: A Road Trip Planning and Information Hub

India is growing on many levels, not just economically, but also the lifestyle of us Indians is evolving. The millennials are adapting much quickly to the growing globalization and it is evident from the rise of the biking culture as more powerful bikes are being sold. And also, the number of biking trips, especially of the long distance touring nature is growing too. This has resulted in the need for information, about the roads and routes, and also the checkpoints on the way. Planning road trips is the toughest task as one can never predict what might happen or there is not enough information available for the travelers to plan ahead with the correct precision.

On my recent trip to Panchgani, I met two lovely gentlemen, Vineet Rajan and Deepak Ananth; the co-founders of ScoutMyTrip and I got chatting where they explained me what the entire initiative is all about and how we bikers can make use of it to plan a proper road trip. Both Vineet and Deepak being experience bikers themselves with over 500,000 kms among them, they shared a lot of their riding stories and experiences. About 60% of all vacations in India are road trips. Many a times people just rely on online maps to show them the way, but it has its limitations as one cannot exactly predict what issues they might face on the way. This is even more applicable to bikers as they could face any malfunction on the road or even run out of fuel if they do not plan ahead and properly about all aspects. What ScoutMyTrip does here is they help the travelers build a complete itinerary, including the kilometres to travel daily, which hotels they could stay at, which fuel stations they could fill up from and most importantly, which toilets on the way are clean and good restaurants on the way. This totally eliminates the hassles of the riders as with the preplanned routes, they can simply concentrate on the riding and enjoy the travels instead of worrying about the other aspects. This makes the entire process easy, yet is comprehensive to ensure you do not miss out on any of the life’s pleasures. ScoutMyTrip has a rich information base from the Himalayas to Kanyakumari, including halts, points of interest, toilets, gas stations, and hotels, among others. ScoutMyTrip was launched in November 2016 with the support of Neeraj Sinha, their Chief Technology Officer. Within the first month of its launch, over 750 road trips were planned on the site successfully. Apart from the vast resource pool, the site also lets you interact with an active travel community for their inputs and for the latest updates on the routes which you plan to travel.

ScoutMyTrip is also aggregating key players in the industry in making an eco-system for all things road trips. To this extent, you can hire a self-drive car from Mylescars or get a chauffeur driven taxi from AHA taxis or even a bike from ONNbikes!. A special tie up with OYO rooms offers the ScoutMyTrip customers a special price in addition to what they get online which depends on the location you wish to travel. ScoutMyTrip is planning to extend their services soon into travel insurance, roadside assistance, and other peripherals to make your travel a stress-busting experience rather than a stress-filled one. For more details you can visit their official website- ScoutMyTrip
