What Should You Choose? A Naked Streetfighter Or A Full Faired Sportbike

In India there’s always a great confusion among the riders, whether they should go for a faired Sportsbike or the naked Streetfighter. Its always about what sort of product you need, according to your usage it should be the thing you put your money on.

Design & Ergo:

Both the designs look spectacular in their own territory. The faired motorcycles are made for a heavy road presence and better aerodynamic resistance against wind. But a naked motorcycle is easy to maneuver in traffic, because it lacks that heavy fairing. The faired sportsbikes have low slung clip-on handlebars and very high and rear set foot pegs contributing for a dominating seating position, which might not be comfortable to you in traffic and on long rides but it also protects you from windblasts. The naked streetfighters basically have a bit upright seating position and they also generally have flat single piece handlebars making for a comfortable riding position. The foot pegs are rear set but not as high as on its faired counterparts.

Performance & Handling:

The naked streetbikes are designed to churn out their peak Power under low and mid rpm range while faired sportsbike churns out their peak power at high rpms. So the difference which arises between them is that naked bikes have much more pickup, live at lower rpms and offer better in cities. The faired sportsbikes are more track focused, so they have higher top-speed in comparison to naked streetfighters but while riding in city you’ll require higher no. of upshifts and downshifts to keep up the pace maintained. The chassis setup of the naked streetfighters is also a bit different in comparison to their faired counterparts, the main difference in them is the rake, trail and suspension setup. Naked streetfighters are flickable but when it comes to leaning them then, faired sportsbikes offers better mid-corner stability.

Conclusion:

If you are more into riding in city with comfy seat and performance of a sportsbike then you’ll need to buy a naked streetfighter. But, if you are more into riding on highways travelling at high speeds and love to experience trackdays with some admiring road presence then go for a faired sportsbike.
