It is always hard to talk about death and especially if a young soul dies in a road accident while riding his/her motorbike. Our country is infamous for the overall road conditions and the traffic sense we have, but we just cannot blame the infrastructure and the system related to it every time; can we??
There are other factors also which are equally responsible if not more for the mishaps around us other than the traffic conditions and the infrastructure he have. The two wheeler industry is evolving in our country leaps and bounds, there are more and more new motorcycle models are launching every other day. With the increasing available options for our youth, the use of more powerful machines have become a trend, in fact it has become a common sight now a days that teens are riding big mighty motorcycles without proper training or experience.
Human errors are one of the major causes known for any road accidents happen across the world and our country is certainly not an exception. Be it the negligence or any other unavoidable circumstances, the sheer INCOMPETENCE of the rider who is riding a powerful sportbike is the main cause of the road accident. The question that arises; could those accidents be actually avoided by just educating those young riders or is there someone else who could have stopped this well before the ball started rolling?
For our youngsters who are still dependent on their parents for making their ends meet, buying an expensive motorcycle is certainly a leisure that their parents could only fulfill for them. Like any other child I could relate myself dreaming for a superbike since my childhood, there are undoubtedly zillions of things that our parents have had provided us including our lots of unjustified demands. The motorcycles are indeed one of those things that every other guy cribs to their parents at least for the first ride of their life, and being a parent they would always love to see you happy, in fact they try to find their happiness in your eyes. It often happens that our parents provide us the motorbike of our choice out of compulsion because we like that bike only, without actually knowing whether the bike is suitable for us or not.
It is needless to say that no parent would ever like to even think of any harm coming to their children, it is just their love and affection towards us that they lend us what we demand. However, when a mighty motorcycle comes as an innocent demand from a kid they should consider their decision twice. I believe in case of road mishaps with the young sportbike riders their parents are equally responsible. It is they who should understand the repercussions of their buying decision.
As a responsible parent one should consider the CAPACITY of both their child and the machine he is demanding. As far as the capacity of machine is concerned, always remember that one should start from a low capacity motorcycle and gradually go for the increased cubic capacity later on. This is by far the best way to graduate for a relatively powerful bike, as starting from low capacity and less powerful machine will let the young gun experience the capability of the machine. And most importantly this way one can not only get the valuable experience but also much needed sense of responsibility and respect towards the machine and the LIFE.
The other aspect of the CAPACITY is the child’s potential, this is very important parameter for any kind of learning process and it mainly involves the observation of the guardian. As a matter of fact every parent knows how capable their child is from his/her childhood, it is now the time to ascertain that in practical, by reassuring the quality of experience our children are getting while learning riding skills. Going for a descent riding school is a good idea, after learning the basics of the riding and commanding the machines in a best possible manner, it is time to go for a ride with our children to get establish a relation of confidence with our kids. This way we can not only assure ourselves about the safety of our youngsters but also lay down a foundation for a strong and responsible biker ahead in life.
