  • Why I Would Not Buy My Ride Online

Why I Would Not Buy My Ride Online

Today technology has brought everything to our doorstep, including our clothes, our groceries and now our two wheelers as well. Recently some of the top two-wheeler manufacturers of our country have undergone tie up with online shopping portals for their products to be sold online. Now, one can easily find bikes like Suzuki Gixxer and Hero Splendor going on sale on the famous online shopping web portals.

Where we have now become habitual for buying our stuffs especially electronic items from these online shopping portals, buying our favorite two-wheeler from these sites might be a fascinating affair for many. But why one would actually go for buying one’s selected bike/scooter from these portals? What are the benefits one would get doing shopping his/her dream machine from online shopping websites? These and many more other questions come to our mind when we think of purchasing a two-wheeler for ourselves.

One of the three major motivations for going online shopping is paying online or digital payment, but to your surprise when you go for shopping on these websites you will come to know that they are just taking booking amount and not the entire amount of the vehicle, and that too is NON- REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. This simply means you cannot change your mind once you book your vehicle through these websites. Not even change in color is possible leave apart the model, variant or name of registrant.

The other inspiring factor for online shopping is considered as “Home Delivery”, this facility is also not available and it seems quite impossible too. Since the online web portal is only taking the booking of the vehicle, one must ultimately go to the dealership which he/she selected while paying the booking amount (the selected dealership can also not be changed once booked). It is there they will have to pay the rest of the amount and can take the delivery of the vehicle.

On the delivery of the unit also there is a condition that the Registrant must be present to take the delivery on whose name the vehicle was initially booked online. The two-wheeler will be delivered based on the availability or discretion of the dealership. However, the delivery date will be informed right after you book the vehicle. And normally it is not a problem as dealership also makes it quick as they also want to close the deal as soon as possible.

Probably the strongest motive behind any online shopping decision is the Discount or various offers that generally offered by the online shopping websites. Here in case of two-wheeler online shopping it is normally seen that one gets the insurance amount waived off.

Considering the amount of insurance as given discount in return of booking the vehicle online I would leave this to the discretion of the potential buyer, whether he/she will opt for so much of restrictions for the amount of Insurance saved which one can easily adjust in the cost of accessories by bargaining with the dealer.

Please add your opinion and personal experience in the comment section below so that a potential buyer can make an informed decision.
