  • 2019 Honda Africa Twin Launched

2019 Honda Africa Twin Launched

  • Oct 20, 2018
  • |   Comments
The Dakar winning Adventure bike from Honda got an update for 2019. The bike received no mechanical updates but it was pretty good enough, to begin with. The 2019 update sees new colour paint scheme for both the Africa Twin and for the Africa Twin Adventure sport. While the former model gets a Dark blue paint scheme with Red and Blue stripes, or with Matte Black, the latter more adventure focused model comes with only one colour Light Silver/ Grey metallic. The option of Gold colour wheels is available on both the models. Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which is just a fancy name for Automatic, is also available as another variant for both bikes.

Africa Twin is the bike for off-roading with the high ground clearance, long wheel travel and a very capable parallel twin engine. The bike feels utmost sublime on the dirt and handles itself beautifully on any off-road patch. The 94 HP which it engine produce might seem a lot offroad but on the highway, it is sure to feel inadequate. The 1000 cc Adventure Class has seen some really good competition in the recent years, with the KTM 1190 Adventure making around 148 HP and BMW R1250 GS churning out 125 HP.

Honda Africa Twin’s ex-showroom price is Rs 13.23 lakh while the Adventure variant comes with a premium of Rs 14.50 Lakh.
