Bajaj Relaunches Discover 125 Silently

Bajaj Auto Ltd is playing the cards of relaunching their once used to be best seller models in Indian market. After relaunching the entry level "CT-100" now Bajaj silently launched "Discover 125" in its old attire, the company updated their site with this entrant as "New Discover 125". However, there is hardly anything new on the bike, the model is same as launched in year 2011 and discontinued soon after.

Bajaj never phased out these so called discontinued models in India from their product portfolio, in fact the company continued the production of these models for the export market. Therefore it is always easier for Bajaj to bring back these phased out models whenever they feel like doing so. The relaunched models are in fact blessed with added features which were exclusively added for the foreign markets, like standard Self start and front Disc Brakes.

Now after discontinuing models like Discover 125T the product lineup for Discover marquee is pretty clear, there are Discover 100 (with old styling), Discover 100M (with new styling), New Discover 125, Discover 125M (with new styling) and Discover 150 (F with fairing and S without fairing). The relaunched 2015 new Discover 125 is featured with exactly same underpinnings as before, the 124.6cc engine has 2 valve per cylinder setup with twin spark Dtsi tech. The mill extracts 11.0 Ps of power at 8000 Rpm and torque of 10.8 Nm @ 5500 Rpm, it is mated to 5-speed transmission gear box but specially tuned for returning claimed fuel efficiency of 82.4 Kmpl.

Opposite to the current ongoing fashion of all black theme, the new Discover 125 follows the old school silver color theme instead. The engine has received all silver color, the 5-spoke alloy wheels along with the full covered chain cover are also silver in color. There is everywhere silver color used except the exhaust pipe, which is matte black with again chrome finished steel heat shield.

As added features the new Discover 125 is now equipped with standard 200mm front disc brakes, which comes with Bajaj signature plastic disc guard. The headlamp assembly with the bikini fairing is a continuation from old style Discover but this time the headlight is featured with DC electrical, which means the intensity of the lamp would remain constant irrespective of the acceleration being given, the bulb wont get dim even while the bike's engine is at idle.

The 2015 Discover 125 is available only in Black color with two distinct color graphics- Ebony Black With Deep Red Graphics and Ebony Black with Blue Graphics. The new Discover 125 is priced at Rs 52,002 (Ex- showroom, Delhi).
