In a launch event where Hero MotoCorp has launched all new Maestro Edge, they have unveiled another scooter built on same platform by the name of “Duet”. The all new Duet is strongly inspired by Honda Activa and it also seems that Hero has done that deliberately to take on the market leader head on. The new Hero Duet shares same underpinnings of the latest offering the Maestro Edge including the indigenously developed 110.9 cc engine and other features. Apart from the same new platform the Duet has distinct all metal body which actually takes it to the arena of Honda Activa. There are features like Remote Fuel lid and Seat opener, Under seat Mobile Charging point, Front Telescopic fork, Service Due Indicator and Integrated Braking System, which is nothing but same feature like Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS).
The Hero Duet is equipped with same newly developed 110.9 cc 4-stroke single cylinder engine as used in new “Maestro Edge”. The 110.9c mill churns out 8.31 Bhp of Power at 8000 Rpm and maximum Torque figure of 8.30 Nm at 6500 Rpm. The new auto gear Duet is claimed to return fuel efficiency of 63.8 Kmpl with kerb weight of 116 Kg.
The Duet will be available in six vibrant colors; Candy Blazing Red, Vernier Grey (non-metallic), Panther black, Matte Nature Green, Grace Grey and Pearl Silver White. Although the price is not been disclosed by the company and it is expected to be a tad lesser than the Maestro Edge. It is also expected that it will officially made available by the company after the Maestro Edge made its appearance at the showrooms nationwide by 13th of October’15.
