First showcased as a concept at last year's EICMA, in an attempt by Honda to create a motorcycle that looks and rides exactly like a MotoGP bike, similar to the one ridden by Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa has finally made it into production. Below is the first detailed look at the production ready Honda RC213V-S, which is the road spec bike of Honda's MotoGP bike.Developed by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and Honda Motor, the RC213V-S is a road-going prototype of the RC213V winning MotoGP Championship. Inspired by, and developed with input from many legendary GP riders, the RC213V-S Prototype is set to be the ultimate road-going motorcycle.
The 1000cc V4 will be officially showcased this Tuesday and just before that, it debuted at an exhibition in Japan. The bike was ridden by Hiroshi Aoyama, the HRC factory test rider who even gave a small interview about the bike (unless you know Japanese). We can hear the bike being revved a couple of times to warm it up before Hiroshi Aoyama rode it.
The bike's parts includes Brembo brakes, Ohlins fork, bar-mounted mirrors, indicators and logo. This is the closest thing for Marquez's GP bike. Expect a hefty price tag too, the bike will be officially unveiled this Tuesday. Until then, stay tuned.
