Honda Unveils 160cc Bros in Brazil, Are We Also Getting Same Engine In India?

  • Nov 18, 2014
  • |   Comments
Honda has unveiled the "Honda Bros 160" in Brazil with newly developed 162.7cc 4-stroke engine. The Bros 160 is essentially "Impulse" we have under Hero Motocorp brand in India.

The Honda Bros 160 is featured with brand new 162.7cc air cooled, fuel injected 4-stroke engine. The engine is capable to produce 14.5 PS of power and 15.69 Nm of torque. India is eagerly waiting for the promised 160cc bike from Honda and this newly developed 162.7cc might be the one what we are waiting for.

However we don't think that the same bike will be launched here in India although the probability of having this newly developed 160cc engine on the upcoming Honda bike is very strong. Honda had already anounced the launch of 160cc bike in premium bike segment, that bike would be a roadster to compete Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ, TVS Apache 160 and upcoming Hero Xtreme sports. Honda has to bring the 160cc bike not only to compete these already successfully launched bikes in terms of power and punch but they also have to make it cost effective to leave the dent on the already rising sales figures of the competitors.

As a cost cutting measure Honda might drop the Fuel injection system and keep the rear disc brake option as standard feature for maintaining its safety concern.
