Jorge Lorenzo has decided to leave Movistar Yamaha and join the Factory Ducati Team for the 2017 and 2018 MotoGP season. The Spaniard has agreed to sign the agreement with the Italian automaker for the upcoming two seasons of MotoGP. Earlier there have been air about a lucrative offer being put forward by Ducati to the reigning MotoGP champion and now it is confirmed that Lorenzo is going to race with Team Ducati in the next 2017 MotoGP. Lorenzo is all set to ride the Ducati Desmosedici in the next 2017 and 2018 GP, he will be competing alongside his new team-mate Luigi Dall’Igna. L. Dall’Igna used to be Lorenzo’s teammate in his both 250cc titles which he won with Aprilia. It is therefore expected that the duo should be proved as a formidable pair for team Ducati.
Ducati also has very high hopes with Lorenzo and they are expecting their first title since Casey Stoner won for them in 2007. Lorenzo’s first appearance with the Desmosedici GP machine is expected to be at the Valencian test ride which will be taken place right after the final round of the current series in November.
