Mahindra Launches Gusto 125- starts from South Indian market

  • Mar 22, 2016
  • |   Comments
Mahindra GUSTO 125 scooter has been launched in India as the first product of 2016 at a price of 50,680 (ex-showroom, Karnataka) for DX variant. The product will also be sold at Kerala and Tamil Nadu. There are no noticeable changes from the present Gusto except mechanical updates made in the scooter. With these mechanical updates the scooter is more powerful and fun to ride. But there has been some tough competition in the 125 cc scooter segment nowadays with the recently launched Access 125 and the giants like Activa 125 and Vespa LX 125. The product has been developed at Mahindra's R&D in Pune. It is completely a home grown product.

Mahindra Gusto 125 uses a 124.6cc M-TEC engine with MCDi innovation that now creates 8.5 bhp of power running at 7000 rpm and pulling out 10 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The engine is mated to CVT gearbox. Somewhat all the more capable Gusto likewise gets telescopic front forks and hydraulic shocks at the back, while braking power originates from 130mm front and rear drum brakes. Front Disc (optional) variant will also be out soon. Contrasted with the Gusto 110, the new form additionally gets 12-inch alloy wheels.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Vinod Sahay, Chief Operating Officer, Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd. said,
Since its launch last year, Gusto has grown consistently and we are now excited about extending the Gusto brand into include new consumer segments. The all-new Mahindra Gusto 125 is bound to turn heads on roads in India as it is packed with a powerful 125 cc M-TEC engine with load sensing MCDi technology and stylish looks to match! We continue with Gusto's innovative car-like features, like India's only Height Adjustable Seat, that makes the new Mahindra Gusto 125 a complete, fully loaded scooter that is sure to delight consumers.

Wondering why majority of the scooters are being launched so soon!? Well we have been aware of BS IV coming into effect from April, buy Delhi Government has put a hold to the new vehicles which are following BS III norms. This might take a bash of their sales at National capital alongside other vehicles with BS III norms. Also Mahindra is to pitch up its sales in Central America and across Asia. By: Rakshit Shastry
