Mahindra's once pilot project the 300cc Mojo is about to be launched very soon. The ready to launch Mahindra Mojo 300 is spied being road tested in Pune, Maharashtra. The Mojo 300 however extensively camouflaged revealed many features of the bike indicating the readiness of the bike to be launched, the registration number plate was one of those as it is not only mounted on the bracket but the temporary registration number was also clearly engraved on it.
The Mojo 300 which was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo this year by the Mahindra seems to be the final product which we will finally receive after so many years, Mahindra kept changing the design of the Mojo 300, the Mojo finally received new headlight fairing with twin headlights along with the LED DRLs (Day time Running Lights), bigger and more contoured fuel tank and pointed rear end.
Now we call it the demand of the time which compelled Mahindra to keep upgrade Mojo even well before its launch and that too for so many times. Had Mahindra launched the Mojo 300 at the time they showcased it for the first time at the Expo about four years back it would have been a sure shot success for Mahindra as there was absolutely no competition in the 300cc segment and the Bajaj Pulsar 220 and Hero Honda Karizma were the only options available for us in the same segment.
Now it will be very difficult for Mahindra to taste the success in emerging 300cc segment as they have to pitch Mojo against the Hondas and the KTMs, the brands which have already tapped the major market share and being international brands they also have the brand loyalty and better quality control. Mahindra has only chance to succeed if they somehow manage to price the Mojo 300 aggressively which they surly can do as they have the advantage of localisation.
