Aprilia is set to join the ranks as a full factory team for 2016, with 2015 being a development year for the Italian marque. The Noale based factory used a modified variant of the ART machinery based on the Highly successful RSV4 superbike. Aprilia has been aggressive in the development of the RS-GP, with the team testing out various swingarms, chassis and even used Pneumatic valves and seamless shift gearboxes (Provided by Zeroshift, which also provides Seamless boxes to Honda). Aprilia's performance improved as the season progressed, with the inclusion of Stefan Bradl who replaced the under performing Marco Melandri.

It was reportedly said the new Aprilia has been a couple of weeks off the actual schedule. The new RS-GP was supposed to be present at the first pre season test at Sepang, which they missed out. The new bike will be unveiled at a private test in Qatar, which coincides with the second official pre season test at Phillip Island.

Aprilia held a private test at Motorland Aragon recently to let Alex de Angelis and his Ioda teammate Savadori Lorenzo to test their new RSV4 RF's, which they'll be racing in the 2016 World superbike championship. The 2016 RS-GP underwent a shakedown before its public unveil in Qatar in almost a week's time, and the bike looks smaller than its ART counterpart.

The exhaust has changed from a 4-2-1 layout to a 4-2-2, the second exit located below the tail a la Honda and Ducati. Reports suggest that the engine has a different angle of Vee, rumored as a 75 degree V4. The Bike looks strikingly different from the previous iterations of the RS-GP. Aprilia's chief Romano Albesiano was particularly satisfied by the level of progress the team has made throughout the year.

The team will test at Qatar and join the MotoGP paddock for the final Qatar test before the season kicks off on the 20th of March'16.
