Valentino Rossi seizes victory at the British GP at Silverstone, in ultra wet conditions. In a 20 lap showdown that involved many crashes and sensations.
The 36 year old Italian used all his experience to try and pull away from Marc Marquez, who crashed out. The duo had already built up a mammoth gap of over 6 seconds before Marc registered his fourth DNF of the season.
Danilo Petrucci (Octo Pramac Ducati) had the race of his life as he muscled his way from the sixth row of the grid, all the way to second place. He had a hard time fending off Andrea Dovizioso who was on the Factory Ducati, and finished three and a half seconds behind Valentino Rossi.
Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati team) completes an all Italian podium for the second time in the season, the first time was at the opening round in Qatar. though he started from the fourth row of the grid, it didn't take him long to fend off the rest of the grid, to the likes of Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa.
Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) had a Nightmare of a race as he had to struggle with the visor of his HJC helmet, which started to fog up and obstruct his visibility. He ended his race in Fourth, which means he'll trail Valentino Rossi by 12 points. Lorenzo started this weekend as the championship leader level on points, but with more number of victories.
Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) had a great ride up to third place, until his teammate Jack Miller on the Open Honda RC213V-RS lost his front and took him along into the gravel trap. Cal managed to get into the pits and came back on his #2 bike, and ended up crashing that too. His teammate Jack miller had a sensational start from 14th, and tried to overtake his teammate to snatch fourth when he crashed, resulting in a double LCR DNF.
Among those who crashed were Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech3), Stefan Bradl (Aprilia Racing team Gresini) and Yonny Hernandez (Octo Pramac Ducati). The GP Proceedings will start on the 11th of September at the San Marino GP, held at Misano world circuit Marco Simoncelli.
Wishing you all a happy week ahead.
