Suraj: Congratulations to you all for completing one year! Tell us how it all started.
Nikhil Paul Johnson (Co Founder and Trainer):
It all started in March 2015 when me and Anoop met up at the KTM Trackday. We got along together and we've had an idea of starting something like this for the upcoming generations. I've been a part of the Yamaha one make championship in 2012 and the "keeda" has been alive since then. After we sketched out the plan we met Mihir Chadha who counted on us and motivated us to keep going. After that we got to meet many experienced and fast riders who are with the crew now.
Jason, Johnny, Luke and Atif were participants in the initial few trackdays, Kyathi was with KTM for a while so he too tagged along. Now we've got Chicane Circuit's support, on-track support from Supermoto360 (a startup run by Hyderabadi Motovlogger Heartbrokenbiker), an official Photographer , Riding gear stores like Bikeopedia and Gear up! and a proper PR crew.
It started with Me, Anoop and Mihir and now we've got almost 12-15 people helping us out at each and every trackday.
Suraj: What is Motovation?
Nikhil: Motovation started off as a track riding school but we've been organising other events too according to the participants' request. We've organised barbecues,Tours and dirt tracks which were liked by our participants and their well wishers alike.
Suraj: MMSC surely was one hell of an experience! Tell us about it.
Nikhil: We've been organising trackdays at chicane for almost an year and many of the participants were asking for a trackday at a bigger circuit. We decided to organise the trackday at MMSC on the last day before the track was closed for resurfacing and renovation. We arranged transport for participants' bikes and roped in Renowned trainers like Sandy (Sandesh) and Rajini (Krishnan) sir, having the whole track for a complete day. The participants loved it, so did we! (smiles)

Suraj: So how did a three member crew expand to become a 13-14 member squad?
Jonathan Johnson (Trainer and crew member):
I've always loved racing and when I heard about Motovation, I thought of giving it a shot and attended the first trackday along with Jason (Trevor, another crew member). I've got a little experience in track riding which made me gel well with the race track. The trio were exciting and their cause was good so I've joined the crew along with Jason!

Suraj: What are the events which you've organised for prestigious organisations?
Jonathan: We helped KTM to organise the orange days at Chicane and an exclusive trackday for KTM by Gusto Racing (Chennai), Triumph's had an exclusive trackday before the Chennai weekend and we marshalled Bajaj's Pulsar Festival of speed too. As Anoop and Nikhil are a part of KOG Hyderabad they've got good rapport with the KTM guys.
Suraj: What made you people popular among the rider fraternity of Hyderabad?
Nikhil: We maintain a clear protocol of what is to be done and what not is to be done. We hand out rider numbers and organise batches so that riders don't get cramped up and crash into each other. Each trainer follows and observes the rider and give them individual tips on how to's and how not to's. We give out our stickers and have our lineup of T-Shirts which can be bought from any of our two partner stores (BikeoPedia and gear up!) and we are active on social media catering every person's doubts and clarifications regarding the trackday.
Suraj: So when are you going big! when can people from other metro cities attain your services?
Nikhil: Tell em to come here baap! (Laughs)
Jokes apart, that has been on the cards for a long time, The MMSC trackday was the first out-of Hyderabad event organised by us and the participants were very happy with the experience and thus we've decided to expand our operations to Bangalore, Kari (Coimbatore), Pune and MMSC (Chennai). We'll be posting the stuff on our official page so do follow us for more updates! Cheers!
