Royal Enfield Coming Up With Parallel Twin Cylinder Engine

  • Feb 20, 2015
  • |   Comments
Royal Enfield is gunning heavily, recently they have stated they are going to establish a brand new facility in UK later this year, now a report coming out from the same part of the World that Royal Enfield is already working on not one but two new engine platforms.

According to the report from VisorDown, Royal Enfield is going to bring much needed Twin cylinder motorcycle by next year. As per the source RE is already near to completion of both the engine platforms which are believed to be 410cc Single cylinder overhead cam engine and a 750cc Parallel twin cylinder engine. Although the 410cc single cylinder engine's capacity is reported to be accurate but the cubic capacity of Parallel twin is tentative.

There would be three or four new models expected to be launched in 2016 and out of those one would be with 410cc single cylinder engine. As we all know that RE has already filled an application for trademarking "Himalayan" in EU, it is now believed, that it could bear the same upcoming 410cc single cylinder engine.

However, the details about the parallel twin engine is limited to its only existence, it is expected that the model based on the twin engine would be designed and developed in UK's upcoming RE facility. Royal Enfield has really going international now, as they have not only recruited the Triumph’s former Project Manager, Simon Warburton but also the legendary former Ducati designer Pierre Terblanche.

Now after compiling all the facts it would be safer to say that soon we are going to see the beginning of another era for Royal Enfield. There will not only be the different engine platforms but also different models made in India and abroad with International quality standards. Now it needs not to mention RE again and again to improve the built quality, fit and finish of their products. What all Royal Enfield is doing is more than sufficient to trust, that they are not only serious in addressing these issues but also doing it in a best possible manner.
