KTM has aggressively taken up the market share with a mind-numbing sales. Their Duke 200 and 390 are the most powerful option in their respective segment. Being most powerful they are not that expensive either. The upcoming 2016 model line-up is spotted testing somewhere in Europe. Though they are manufactured in India at their Pune facility they are now a world-wide demanded brand. The next gen models will be hosting many changes on the design department. Though the engine options will be same as the current line-up. But, they might have some retuning of the engine to churn out some more horses. The redesigned fuel-tank and side-panels will be the most noticeable changes. The rear license plates holder also appears to be thinner and neater this time. The most noticeable changes is the re-positioning of the turn indicators. The revised rider rear seats also contribute to the noticeable changes. The grab-rails for the pillion rider are now changed to new units. The sub-frame of bike is being redone and made sturdy for some hardcore rough riding. Only Duke 390 is spotted with a right hand side mounted exhaust instead of the current underbelly exhaust indicating towards the Adventure avatar of it.
Visordown had posted a story about these two bikes spotted with new KTM 1290 Super Duke Sports Tourer but revealing only spy shot of Sports Tourer.Later MCN has published these spy pics confirming Visordown story. The alterations made specially in Duke 390 support the idea of Duke 390 Adventure capability, as by only replacing the headlight the bike would start looking a perfect adventure contender with all virtues it has.
The logic behind this face-lift over the whole line-up is to keep the motorcycle fresh for some years till the time they develop new platform and design. The Austrian manufacturer is trying his best to keep the pace high with the market contenders and make a permanent hold over it.
