The motive behind the concept of “uberMOTO” is to provide a cheaper option of transportation and to facilitate the customer by cutting short the time of distance travel. The uberMOTO will work on similar pattern as the Uber cab service is available. One can book the ride through the “Uber App” and can call the ride for him/herself. The protocol will also remain same as it does on the Uber cab service.
Amit Jain, President, Uber India, said:
Uber has always been at the forefront of innovation across the world. We are very excited to pilot uberMOTO in Bangalore--pairing our on-demand technology platform with motorbikes, the predominant mode of transport in India. Enabling transportation at the push of a button, uberMOTO will offer another affordable mobility option that will help people save time and money while helping cut congestion in our cities over time.
The uberMOTO service is claimed to be the most affordable transportation option available in the Bangalore city and the travel fare will start from Rs.15 and one has to pay Rs.3 per km extra. If you need to keep the ride waiting for you, here you have to pay waiting charges @ Rs.1 per minute. The minimum fare is fixed at Rs.15 and Uber has introduced a facility of “Free ride” to the first time users. To know more about the uberMOTO visit: www.uber.com
