BMW Motorrad has launched 2014 BMW S1000R in India. The S1000R is the naked version of BMW's S1000RR, the bike has same 999cc inline 4- cylinder engine, detuned to offer 160 Bhp of power at 11000 Rpm and 112 Nm of torque output at 9250 Rpm which is considerably less than its fairied sibling but actually making the bike more ride-able and urban roads friendly.
The S1000R has more low and mid range torque making it quite a sprinter and fun to ride in "red light to red light" situation.
BMW also altered the wheelbase of S1000R which is little bit longer than its fairied counterpart to make the bike more planted in city conditions. The front foot pegs of the rider is also lowered a bit to facilitate the rider in maneuverability, the pillion seat is also moved forward and kept lower for the utmost comfort of the pillion.
