The iconic British motorcycle brand- Triumph Motorcycles has confirmed that they will return to the legendary salt flats of Bonneville, Utah, United States, later this month. The legendary marquee will step into the salt lake to break the motorcycle world land speed record. Triumph will try to beat the current land speed record that stands at 376.363 mph. They will use their purpose built Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner, capable of producing 1,000 bhp of power.Guy Martin will be the rider for the Triumph Infor Rocket which is featured with a carbon Kevlar monocoque body along with two turbocharged Triumph Rocket III engines producing a combined 1,000 bhp at 9,000 rpm. The Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner is 25.5 ft long, 2 ft wide and 3 ft tall. The Rocket III engines are fueled by methanol and the bike is competing in the Division C, which is a category of streamlined motorcycles.
Guy Martin commented:
I can’t wait to take the Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner onto the salt at Bonneville for the first time this summer. The Triumph engineers have built an amazing machine, giving us the very best chance to beat the two-wheeled land speed record.
Here it is note worthy that Triumph Motorcycles was about to attempt the same last year also and they had to drop the idea because of an unfortunate accident that took place with their ace rider Guy Martin while he was participating in a race.
