Triumph Recalls Motorcycles For ECU Problem In Europe & Other Continents

  • Nov 24, 2014
  • |   Comments
Triumph has recalled several motorcycles for the faulty ECU in its 2014-2015 models including Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Thruxton, Tiger 800, Tiger 800XC, Thunderbird, Thunderbird Storm, Rocket III Touring and Rocket III Roadster.

According to sources the recalls have been announced in Australia, United Kingdom and Canada. Triumph is recalling their motorcycles for the faulty ECU (Engine Contol Unit), it has been explained that the problem is arising when the motorbikes are being tested to their limits.

The ECU suddenly actuates one of the injectors of the Fuel Injection system resulting into over fueling. When this happens while the bike is stand still there is starting trouble and when this happens while the bike is running it results into ignition failure of one of the engine cylinders due to over fueling.

The problem is being corrected by replacing the ECU at the dealers. It is still not known whether the Triumph bikes sold in India are using same set of ECUs or they are running on different equipment. If the Triumph motorcycles in India are also featuring same ECUs or if you are facing similar kind of problem with your Triumph machines that could be the same problem and might shortly be addressed by Triumph Motorcycles India.
