Hero Showcases New Maestro Edge 125 and Duet 125- Auto Expo 2018

Hero MotoCorp has showcased the updated versions of their established brands- Maestro Edge and Duet. Hero has not only plonked brand new 125cc engine on both the scooters but also bring quite a few design changes to the scooters, especially if we talk about the Duet.

The all new Duet 125 is targeted as family commuter with added emphasis on premium styling, power and technology. The already metal body Scooter now comes packed with a host of modern and bold features, such as Side Stand Indicator, Service Reminder, Pass Switch, External Fuel Filling, Boot Lamp and Mobile Charge etc. The new Duet 125 has been given a face lift which now gives it resemblance to the Honda Activa 125. The scooter now comes featured with new premium Chrome Chest, Signature Tail Lamp & Winkers, new bold chrome strips, new body color mirrors and dual tone seat cover to enhance styling of the scooter.

The Hero Duet 125 extracts its power from a new 125cc Energy Boost Engine, producing power output of 8.7 bhp @ 6750 and maximum torque of 10.2 Nm @5000 rpm. The scooter also brings Hero’s patented i3S (Idle-stop-start system) to the scooter segment for enhanced efficiency. The scooter comes in four exciting color options – Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver white - add to the premium appeal of the scooter. The new Duet 125 will be available only with Drum brakes option and it will be introduced to the market later at the second half of this fiscal year.

Commenting on the occasion, Markus Braunsperger, Chief Technology Officer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd., said,
The XPulse, and the Maestro Edge 125 and Duet 125 scooters have been developed totally indigenously at the CIT. The XPulse will re-shape the duel-purpose/ on/off road bike segment with an exciting mix of performance and usability. Our scooter portfolio has been steadily improving and with the addition of the two new scooters, we have further improved our offerings to the customers. These are the first and only scooters in India that feature a start-stop system, based on Hero’s revolutionary i3S technology. Further by delivering seven major products in different segments in past 48 days, we have shown our in-house R&D capabilities and commitment.

The new Hero Maestro Edge 125 looks almost similar to the ongoing 110cc variant of the Maestro Edge. The new Maestro Edge 125 draws its power from the same newly developed 125cc Energy Boost Engine which is featured on the Duet 125. The boldly styled scooter comes packed with a host of design elements including Diamond-cut cast wheels, sharp Front Cover & Apron, sleek Rear Cowl, signature LED tail-lamp and Frost winkers. Keeping the convenience of customers at its core, the scooter offers features like external fuel filling, remote key opening, mobile charging port and boot lamp. In addition, the scooter offers a slew of safety and utility features, such as, Digital-Analog meter, side stand indicator and service due reminder.

Adding to the style quotient is the all Matt color palette – Matt Techno Blue, Matt Red, Matt Brown and Matt Vernier Grey. The Maestro Edge 125 is available in both Drum and Disc variants and it also be available for sale by the second half of this financial year.
