So with the start of the New Year, Kawasaki decides to give us new bike. Thus, Kawasaki launches their Versys 1000 in India with an ex-showroom price of 12.9 lakhs and approximately 14.2 lakhs on-road in Pune. The Versys 1000 is one of the most popular superbikes in then European markets, mainly because of its go anywhere capabilities and performance too. The bike is brought into India via the CBU route and the bike was launched while Kawasaki inaugurated its new dealership in Kolkata, further expanding its network in India.

The bike is powered by a 1043cc engine. This is a liquid cooled engine which produces a maximum power of 118bhp and torque of 102Nm mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has an aluminium chassis with long-travel suspension that takes on any kind of terrain. The bike is chain driven. The braking duties are carried out by dual discs of 310 mm with four-piston calipers at the front and a single 250 mm single-piston disc at the rear. The bike weighs 250 kgs while the fuel capacity is of 21 litres, given its touring capabilities. The bike is presently available in only one colour.

Other features include an upright seating position, windscreen and an adjustable handlebar to further enhance the comfort of the rider. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. Other host of features include an assisted slipper clutch and Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) which comes as standard with the bike. Lastly, Mr. Shigeto Nishikawa, Dy Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors said;
"We have launched superbikes ranging from Ninja ZX-14R, ZX-10R, Ninja1000, Z1000, Z800 and now Versys1000. We have also eagerly absorbed feedback and valuable insight from customers and put every effort to raise ourselves to be a higher and superb level of service provider to customers. We have recently offered a special price for the Z800 till the end of March due to the effort taken by our Indian colleagues. With those factors considered, we are targeting to grow by 50% over the last year in this year".

Being said all the above, it seems like good things are coming and we happily welcome the all new Kawsaki Versys 1000 to India.
