Royal Enfield Himalayan Launched

  • Mar 16, 2016
  • |   Comments
Royal Enfield has launched the much awaited affordable adventure tourer- Himalayan. The brand new product from the house of legendary Bullet maker has been unveiled just couple of days ahead of the Delhi Auto Expo’16. It is now they have officially launched the bike with the announcement of the pricing of the Himalayan along with its availability.

Made on a brand new platform the Himalayan is targeted for those who are looking for a potent machine for long hauls. The new RE Himalayan is featured with new chassis especially designed for enduring extreme conditions. Complementing the sturdy frame Himalayan is also featured with a brand new 410 cc single cylinder OHC engine. The mill is capable of producing 24.5 Bhp at 6500 rpm along with respectable 32 Nm of torque at early 4500 rpm. The new engine is designed for adhering those long and bone breaking journeys; RE introduces the overhead cam shaft and weight balancers to reduce those unwanted vibrations making the new Himalayan most refined Royal Enfield ever.

The Himalayan is fueled through Carburetor and this might be the reason for its non compliance of BSIV. Whatever the reason it could be but due to this very fact that the new Himalayan is failed to comply the BS4 standards it won’t be able to make it in a city like New Delhi. Although, the new RE Himalayan will be available for display purpose in the capital city but they cannot be registered in Delhi. However, one can get the registration done in NCR region where there is no compulsion for BS4.

Report suggests that Royal Enfield is already working on the fuel injected version of Himalayan along with ABS version. The updated version of the Himalayan will be out by year 2017 and hopefully it is by then Delhi will get the new RE Himalayan.

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan will be available in only two colors- Snow White and Granite Black. RE has priced the new Himalayan at Rs 1.55 Lacs (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai).
