Yamaha Motor India has launched new YZF R15-S here in India and our neighboring country Nepal today. The newly launched R15-S is a surprise addition to the fleet of Japanese automaker, as the motorcycle has all the underpinnings of existing YZF-R15 version 2.0. Essentially the R15-S looks identical to the version 1 of the YZF R15 with single seat.Yamaha expressed their idea behind this launch was based on their customer feedback and survey they had conducted. Based on those reports, Yamaha found that there is still considerable demand for the previous version of YZF R15. There is a market segment interested in the R15 with single seat because of the comfort related to the pillion. It is quite evident that the aggressive rear end of the version 2.0 R15 along with split seat is not a cup of tea for everyone.
The gentry interested in committed race track design of the “R” series bike is more than content with the latest version of R15. But those who although appreciates the performance and the quality features of the R15 were always dreamt of something with more road friendly and commuterish ergonomics. With the launch of new R15S Yamaha has taken care of the sentiments of those who would like to own an entry level performance machine which can be used for family affairs on daily basis.
The new YZF-R15 S will be available in three colors- Track White, Adrenalin Red and Spark Green. Yamaha has priced the R15-S at Rs 1,14,741 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) and it will be available for sale along with the YZF-R15 V2.0.
