  • Yamaha Launches FZ Version 2.0

Yamaha Launches FZ Version 2.0

  • Jun 30, 2014
  • |   Comments
Today Yamaha Motors India launches much awaited upgraded version of it's FZ series in New Delhi. Both the bikes from FZ series viz. FZ-S and FZ-16 have received the up gradation as Version 2.0. The bikes received major changes as expected and speculated from the spy shots rampant on the internet. This time Yamaha has plonked a brand new engine developed extensively by the Team Yamaha but to our surprise Yamaha has reduced the cubic capacity of the engine to 149cc from 153cc, making it the under powered machine as compared to the older version. The new FZ will churn out 13.1 Ps @ 8000 Rpm as compare to the older one's 14.0 Ps @ 7500 Rpm and gives 12.8 Nm of torque at 6000 Rpm as compare to the older one's 13.6 Nm at 6000 Rpm. Yamaha is claiming better performance than the older version of FZ despite the less powered motor of new FZ V2.0. Yamaha has used the new "Blue Core technology" to develop the new 149cc SOHC engine, which is a similar technology as Honda's HET and Suzuki's SEP helping to get better mileage. This time Yamaha has also incorporated Fuel Injection System in the FZ version 2.0, which is probably responsible for the linear performance delivery.
New Features and Changes:
Yamaha has offered multiple changes as goodies to the new FZ.

  • New 149cc SOHC 4-stroke engine
  • New Fuel Injection System
