Kawasaki has launched the all new 2018 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR here in India at an absolutely throat cut pricing. The reason behind the aggressive pricing of these litre class monsters is that, the supersport siblings are now assembled in India at the Chakan plant, which comes from Japan in a semi knocked down form. The Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR are the best race machines from the Japanese stable, which offers a close to WSBK experience for the road.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R (2018) Overview

The base model of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is now available at just Rs. 12.8 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) and the Ninja ZX-10RR at Rs. 16.10 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi). The prices have dropped by a whopping 6 lakh for the base model and 5.8 lakh for the race trimmed version. Here's an overview of the 2018 Ninja ZX-10R siblings.

LOOKS AND DESIGN : The 2018 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR are visually identical to the previous year model and all the changes are minimal and internal. In India, the ZX-10R is available in KRT color scheme while the ZX-10RR is available in Matte black. The motorcycle is completely track focused with almost zero comfort for long highway rides. The seating and stance is outrageous for commuting in heavy traffic, and the stance asks the rider to twist the throttle. The front is occupied by dual headlight assembly and a large central air intake with DRL's on top of it. The body work is minimal with an aerodynamic design, while the rear end is sharp with an LED taillamp.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION : The ZX-10R siblings share a 998cc liquid cooled in line four engine that churns out a whopping 197 BHP at 13,000 RPM and 113.5 Nm of torque at 11,500 RPM. The engine can further make a 207 BHP at the same 13,000 RPM with RAM air intake. The ZX-10RR on the other hand gets an up/down quick shifter along with forged Marchesini wheels. The engine is fuel injected with a 6 speed manual transmission. The clutch is a wet multi plate unit with slip and assist. The ZX-10RR gets updated cooling system along with track focused gear ratios and a reinforced crank case.

ELECTRONICS :

The ZX-10R siblings come with superior electronic rider aid systems viz Bosch 5 axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Kawasaki Sports Traction Control system with 5 modes, power modes, Kawasaki Launch control system, Kawasaki engine braking system and ABS as standard. The motorcycle also gets ride by wire throttle system for superior response. The suspension on the ZX-10RR has electronic compression and rebound damping adjustments.

BRAKES, CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION : Both the Ninja siblings are built on twin spar cast aluminium frame for superior rider feedback and has an aluminium swingarm linked to it. The ZX-10R is equipped with dual 330mm semi floating discs with Brembo monobloc 4 piston calipers at the front and a single 220mm disc with a single bore caliper at the rear. The ZX-10RR on the other hand comes with dual 330mm Brembo semi floating discs with superior Brembo M50 monobloc 4 piston calipers up front and a single 220mm disc with a single bore pin slide caliper at the rear. The bikes come with 43mm Balance free front forks developed in coordination with Showa for the Kawasaki WSBK team. The rear end is suspended by Showa BFRC Lite mono suspension which is launched with the ZX-10R.

FINAL IMPRESSION :

The Kawasaki ZX-10R and ZX-10RR are great litre class sport bikes specifically designed to put race tracks on fire. These two motorcycles now being completely assembled in India means that it has become accessible for a large group of people. At a little over the price of a Daytona 675 R, one can get a thoroughbred litre class race machine. Superbikes in India are becoming more and more affordable, thanks to manufacturers finally localizing the assembly. The major reduction in the prices of ZX-10R siblings would give sleepless nights to the other manufacturers. The ZX-10R is priced at Rs. 12.8 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) while the outright track focused ZX-10RR retails at Rs. 16.10 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi). 2013 Model of Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R-

Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R is a masterpiece in liter class super sportbikes. The Ninja ZX 10R is having phenomenal power output of 209.9 Ps, which is pretty awesome figure for a 1000cc bike.
