Ducati Unveils New Desmosedici Stradale V4 Engine

  • Sep 7, 2017
  • |   Comments
The Bologna, Italy based motorcycle manufacturer has introduced its first ever production V4 engine. Based on the extensive MotoGP experience of Ducati the new V4 engine is all set to rock the biking fraternity pretty soon. Ducati has unveiled the new Desmosedici Stradale 90 degree V4 engine at Misano during the San Marino and Rimini Riviera GP, the 13th round of the ongoing 2017 MotoGP championship.

Ducati is all set to launch their first ever production Panigale model featured with this new Desmosedici Stradale engine. The unveiling of the new mighty Ducati Panigale V4 is scheduled for November’17 at the upcoming EICMA motor show.

Commenting on the occasion, Claudio Domenicali, Ducati's CEO said,
It's with undiluted pride that we unveil this technological gem. It represents the start of a new chapter for our company, underlining our vitality and an unshakeable commitment to investment in new products. This engine also highlights the close collaboration between Ducati Corse and the factory bike development team, proving just how instrumental racing can be in developing the technology that is later applied on production bikes. In November, at EICMA, we'll be showcasing the new Panigale V4, an all-new motorcycle powered by this extraordinary engine.

The new V4 Desmosedici Stradale engine is undoubtedly suited to the track but it has also been designed to respond to the needs of the road riders. The mighty 1103cc V4 engine is capable of producing power output of 210 Hp at 13,000 Rpm and more than 120 Nm of torque between 8750- 12,250 Rpm. There will also be an ‘R’ version of the Desmosedici Stradale with less than 1000 cubic capacity. The engine would be intended for track use and that is already at the advanced development stage. We can expect that even lighter weight and more powerful version of the V4 engine somewhere in 2019.

Stay tuned to BikesMedia as we will bring you the detailed insight of the new Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine soon.
