2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 is spotted testing on tracks, the legendary YZF-R1 is due for an update. Yamaha has always been on a fairer side in providing the budget performance motorcycles throughout the World. Yamaha’s YZF-R series have always been on a performance enthusiast’s mind. The Yamaha R1 currently on sale comes with an inline 4-cylinder motor which churns out 182 Horses and 115.5 Nm of Torque , and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission gear box. The current Yamaha R1 is more premium than its sporty superbike replica sibling the YZF-R6. So, in simple words current Yamaha R1 does not have that lines of agility and confidence as the Yamaha R6.

So, the changes in upcoming R1 as seen in the spy shots suggest that, it’ll be sporting the chassis character of the R6. The under –seat dual exhausts have made way for the side stubby can, with a collector box below the bike to centralizes the mass towards the bottom side. There will be a new swing-arm, and changes will be the braces. The braces have moved towards the upper part from the lower side to make some clearance for the shock absorber. In current generation R1 the shock is on the lower side and braces under the swingarm to make space for under seat exhaust. The body fairing also resembles to that of the R6.

Performance figures are yet to be stated from yamaha’s side. Sources say that Yamaha has put a full stop on the inline 4 motor’s production. And has showcased a 3 cylinder motor recently. There are 230 Horses which are expected to ooze out from the 3-cylinder motor. Yeah!!! Even I’m wondering the same, how can this be possible? But, this is what is speculation done by the World. But, we think that Yamaha might be considering a new inline-4 motor to churn out some more horses, and we can’t stamp these power figures, as Yamaha recently has played a serious game with Indians with the FZ version 2.0, which was supposed to give 17 Ps of power!! So, for all the real figures and wonder stay tuned to us.
