Yamaha R3 With Crossplane Twin Engine On The Cards

  • Jul 8, 2014
  • |   Comments
Yamaha has recently launched its R25 with latest 250cc twin cylinder engine in Indonesia. Everybody in India is eagerly waiting for this parallel twin engine bike to be launched in India. Many of us must also be wondering why Yamaha is launching bikes in countries like Indonesia and not in India, that too a quarter litre bike which has more demand in our country that is why almost every motorcycle manufacturer is thriving for tapping this emerging segment. Kawasaki is already ahead of every other manufacturer by not only introducing the first ever modern parallel twin cylinder engine bike- the Ninja 250R but also gave the taste of the updated 300cc Ninja. The sports quarter litre segment with twin cylinder engine is ruled solely by Kawasaki as other manufacturers have launched their 250-300cc bikes in single cylinder. Now, to recall everybody that not a long time ago Yamaha has showcased at a Tokyo “business briefing” its latest Crossplane parallel twin cylinder and triple cylinder engines developed on the platform of its inline -4 legendary Yamaha R1. As far as the twin cylinder is concerned it is certainly not the one that the Indonesians have received in the recently launched R25, and if you also recall that Yamaha along with R25 has also patented the brand name "R3", by consolidating all the facts it is reasonable to believe that Yamaha is going to launch the 300cc or 320cc Yamaha R3 with crossplane crank technology in India and not the R25. So there are all reasons for all bikes aficionados in India to cherish that we might going to get Yamaha R3 sooner or later.
