2021 Yamaha R15 V4.0 Launched in India

Yamaha Launches 2021 R15 V4.0 in India at 1.68 lakh ; gets Bluetooth connectivity, traction control and lot more.



Yamaha India launched the fourth generation of its most popular 150cc entry level sports bike in India i.e R15. Additionally, Yamaha has also launched a sportier variant YZF R15M of their newest motorcycle. The new R15 V4 was launched virtually, Yamaha has updated its looks which now looks bigger, all thanks to the new fairing, which also helps in reducing coefficient of aerodynamic drag (CdA) than the earlier version. Talking about looks the new R15 V4 is inspired from its elder sibling YZF-R7, a projector headlamp at center with sleek and aggressive looking DRLs on either sides.

Hardware and features

The new R15 V4 now gets hosts of new features, some of them being first in segment; it now gets Bluetooth connectivity, traction control, quick shifter. It now becomes the first Yamaha motorcycle to feature a quick shifter in single-cylinder engine, quick shifter will be available on the R15 V4 Racing Blue and R15M. The New LCD instrument panel comes with Bluetooth connectivity (Yamaha Motorcycle Connect), gets Gear shift indicator, and modes for instrument Cluster(Track and Street), it has got Trip button positioned on the right handlebar which will help to toggle between display modes and information displayed. The most notable change is the 37mm golden coloured Upside down forks at front which now offers more stability under braking thanks to new structure which gives comfort and helps in cornering too. The new Yamaha R15 V4 weighs 142 kgs (kerb weight)

Engine & performance

The new YZF-R15 V4 gets power from 155cc fuel-injected, 4-stroke, SOHC, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine mated to 6 speed gearbox which produces max power of 18.4 PS @10,000rpm and max torque of 14.2 Nm @7,500rpm which is 0.25 PS lesser compared to R15 V3 while the Max torque remains same at 14.2 Nm. Features limited to YZF-R15M version:
While engine and a lot of features remains same to the newly launched R15 V4, it gets-

* Anodized blue fork caps with Golden colour on Brake Caliper
* A special grey colour scheme (similar to the one, we have seen on YZF R1M)
* Exclusive rider and pillion seat with a logo embroidered on pillion seat

* Quick shifter, special grey color theme, exclusive rider and pillion seat, golden colored brake calipers, etc.

Colours and Price

New Yamaha Yzf R15 V4 has three color options – Dark Knight, Metallic Red and Racing Blue. The Ex-showroom prices are listed below -
Dark Knight- Rs 1,68,800
Metallic Red- Rs 1,67,800
Racing Blue- Rs 1,72,800

The R15M is priced at Rs 1,77,800 which is Rs 5000 more than the racing blue variant.
