Yamaha, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer was a few days back testing its new R15M on the highways, the notable difference which could be spotted in the camouflage model was; it had a headlamp placed in the center instead of twin headlamp setup as we always see in R15 series. The model which was being spotted gets a lot of inspiration from its elder sibling Yamaha R7, everybody on the internet began to speculate about the newly spotted R15, so it left a lot of doubts in bike enthusiasts but now this model was spotted in a dealership completely undisguised.
The New R15M is speculated to get the same engine which is seen on R15 Version 3 but with a slight decrease in power, if speculation is true then it will make 18.3hp which is 0.3hp lesser as compared to R15 V3, other notable features are USD fork, center LEF headlamp unit, daytime running lamps on both sides of the headlamp, the bike looks inspired a lot from YZF R7 from the front but carries the same design of R15 V3 from the rear. Why this M Variant?
Maybe Yamaha India wants to attract bike enthusiasts who need more track focused machine or sporty version of the R15 V3, the USD forks upfront, MotoGP color schemes justifies the claim a lot but instead of power increment, the power is reduced even though by a very little margin. What Yamaha is trying to do can only be understood when it launches the new variant R15M. It would be interesting to see if this particular model can give more performance even though with a slight decrease in power figure.Pricing and Features:
The bike could get an advanced instrument panel with Lap timer, Bluetooth which would work like icing on cake for bike enthusiasts, for the pricing department we could expect a little bump in price from Rs 6000-12000 as we can see some added features. For more updates stay tuned until it launches.
