Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) concluded the grand finale of ‘Honda One Make Race 2014’, amid much fanfare and excitement at the Madras Motor Race Track. The CBR 250R Championship cup goes to Sumit Loucs Toppo (1st) followed by Sarath (2nd) Ramesh Kumar (3rd) The Ace riders would be provided an opportunity to participate in Asia Dream Cup.
Since the inception of "Honda One Make Race" in 2008 the prestigious race is growing in scale and fame receiving overall 314 entries for 2014 race from all over the country. Honda has leased out 16 CBR250Rbikes to the participants of teams registered at FMSCI. All the bikes were modified with imported performance kits from HRC to produce terrific power and performance. Asia Dream Cup is the brain-child of Honda Motor Company, Japan. Through this unique racing activity, Honda gives Indian riders a platform to develop riding skills which is comparable to the best of Asian riders. From India, Honda has sponsored three riders - Mr. Sumit LocusToppo, Mr. Prabhu Arunagiri and Mr. Sarath S. Till now 4 out of the 6 rounds have been conducted at Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan. This year for the first time, two Indian riders are among Top 10 riders till now. The action is set to intensify in the two remaining rounds in Thailand (7-9 November) and Qatar (11-13 December).
To further develop new talent and nurture Motorsport talent in India, Honda has signed an MOU with "Ten 10 Racing Academy". Already, 2 academy sessions for professional racing training have been held, wherein 45 riders over 15 years of age participated. Encouraged by the overwhelming response, Honda will hold next racing academy on November 14-15, 2014.
