There had been rumors that Honda will launch the CBR 300R in India but Honda has decided to disappoint all the enthusiasts, as Honda has imported updated CBR 250R which signifies that it will not launch CBR 300R in Indian market. The bike was exported in November first few days back to their home land for testing purposes. It is hard to understand the strategy of Honda as why they are not bringing the 300cc variant whereas Kawasaki has ditched its Ninja 250cc variant for the updated Ninja 300, even the news are doing round that Yamaha will launch R3 in India instead of R25. Maybe Honda has their own plans for Indian market & wants to compete with the under 250cc bikes and not the 300cc ones like Duke 200 and RC200.Honda will increase the power of the CBR 250R it will be a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol motor now producing 29 PS of power & 23 Nm of torque and it will also increase the price of updated CBR 250R. In terms of styling it will be same as it's 300cc sibling and now it will look more like a baby Fireblade rather than baby VFR. It was much needed update by Honda as KTM 200cc siblings are giving it a tough time and CBR250R hasn’t been a hot seller for quite some time.
But the main question arises is will you buy updated CBR250R over KTM RC200? When the competition is going to be even worse after the launch of Hero HX250R , Bajaj Pulsar 200ss and TVS BMW bike.
