New Mahindra Gusto 125- Overview

  • Jan 13, 2016
  • |   Comments
Mahindra had stepped into auto scooter market with their indigenously developed Gusto not so long time ago, now they have unveiled the more powerful version of the scooter as Gusto 125. Be it the scooter or the entry level motorcycles, Mahindra has left their unique signature of features never ever used in two wheelers before. There is no doubt about that Mahindra has always played very smartly by applying their expertise from the now age old 4- wheeler business experience in the 2-wheeler segment. The new Gusto 125 is also not an exception and thereby carried all the features we have seen on the older 110cc Gusto.

Style & Design

The new Mahindra Gusto 125 looks almost exactly same as the older sibling; one can spot the difference with the new front grill now being featured on the Gusto 125. The new Gusto 125 comes in four distinct colors- Orange Rush • Bolt White • Monarch Black • Regal Red. Over all the style of the Gusto remains very different and you either hate it or love it. Anyway the brand is never known for its styling instead it is the features one can find on the marquee makes it more popular. Engine:

The Gusto 125 is equipped with 125cc air cooled M-Tec CVT engine developed by Mahindra; the continuous variable transmission helps to achieve good balance of power and mileage. The 125cc engine will compete with the likes of Honda Activa 125’s engine and Suzuki Swish and Access’s engine in terms of performance and fuel efficiency. Height Adjustable Seat:

The seat height of any vehicle be it scooter or motorcycle is always a critical subject, at a given point we all must have thought of an adjustable seat for our ride. Mahindra has featured the Gusto with height adjustable seat, which can easily be adjusted as per the requirement of the rider for the better ride comfort and safety. Remote Flip Key:

Mahindra has brought down the feature of cars into the two wheeler segment and the “Remote Flip Key” is one of those many features. Now you have a very stylish car like flip key which you can flip open by pressing the button. The key not only holds the sole purpose of opening the lock but it also has remote sensors for the other car like features which we will come to in some. The key holder also contains LED which comes very handy when you have to find the key hole in pitch dark. Find-Me Lamps:

Imagine you park your Gusto in a very crowded parking and while returning you forget where you have parked it. Here comes the “Find-Me Lamps” feature, just press the button on your key and voila your scooter will automatically start blinking and beeping. A very thoughtful feature especially for two wheelers designed by Mahindra 2 Wheelers. Guide Lamp:

The guide lamp feature is also one very handy and efficient one; the feature allows you to stay in light for few seconds after switching off the engine. The feature is extremely useful when one has to park the scooter in night and walk a distance in dark. The guide lamp stays on for few seconds and helps you to walk through even after you safely parked the scooter. Easy Kick Starter:

The Gusto 125 is equipped with kick starter which you can use while sitting on the scooter. Generally the auto scooters come with kick starter which if in need you will have to off board the scooter and apply the kick from the behind. However, Mahindra has turned the kick starter in such a way that you can use it like you do in your motorcycle and even that can easily be done without descending from the ride. Quick Storage:

There is a facility for quick storage right under the meter console, the pocket like storage space is very thoughtful and comes handy for your small knick knacks. The under seat storage is also ample and a full face helmet can easily be accommodated along with few other things. Tyres & Suspensions:

The new Gusto 125 comes with big 12 Inch tubeless tyres and they are mounted on the sturdy steel rim, there is no option for alloy wheels and the braking duty is also been done by the drum brakes and there is no option for front disc brakes as well. The new Gusto 125 rides on front telescopic suspension with unique air springs for better ride and stability.

Our Impression

The new Mahindra Gusto 125 if priced prudently and right below the competition, there is a chance for Mahindra to see selling the Gusto in good numbers. Stay tuned as we will bring the First Ride Review of new Mahindra Gusto 125.

Mahindra has released the stripped down version of their Flagship motorcycle and named it as Mojo UT 300. All new Honda Grazia has got really cool and astonishing looks. The very first look of the scooter somehow reminds us of Honda Dio from the front and the rear end. Actually the whole scooter looks like Honda Activa has worked out, took heavy diet and transformed. Beautiful fine lines and bulky yet aerodynamic front of Grazia mesmerizes the soul.
