Comparison : TVS Star City Plus Vs Mahindra Centuro Vs Honda Dream CD 110

  • Jul 15, 2014
  • |   Comments
With the launch of new Honda Dream CD 110, Honda has generated a buzz amongst 110cc commuter segment market, however Honda has pitched the new Dream CD 110 against the Hero HF Deluxe by keeping it almost exactly same priced. But we put it other way round and decided to compare other potential competitors of Dream CD 110 in 110cc segment. It is the Mahindra Centuro which has succeeded in creating more hype then any other 110cc bikes available till date and then it is TVS Star City Plus which is featured with the most stylish design and torquey engine. Design

The TVS Star City Plus looks more fresh and up market then the other bikes, carry forwarded the design element from its older siblings. The Mahindra Centuro comes next as far as the design and aesthetics are concerned, Mahindra has successfully put the design of Centuro on the conservative side by not trying anything stupid. The bike can easily be identified by its trademark golden ribs. The Honda Dream CD 110 comes last in design front as there is nothing exiting or innovative element is added by Honda, it is just a simple conventional commuter design carry forwarded from other "Dream" series bikes. Engine, Performance and Mileage

All the three bikes are bearing engines with almost same Cubic capacity. Mahindra Centuro has the 106.7cc engine milling out 8.5 Ps of power at 7500 Rpms, the engine feels good and powerful at the low and medium rev range but lacks the refinement. However, Mahindra seems to be pretty confident on its technology as they are offering the 5-years manufacturer's warranty on its engine.

The TVS Star City Plus sports the 109.7cc engine churning out 8.4 Ps of power at 7000 Rpms. It is the bike which pulls put the maximum torque at the lower Rpms comparing to its competition. The engine obviously feels more torquier and significantly refined in nature.

The Honda Dream CD 110 is equipped with 109cc engine featuring Honda's patented technology - HET, responsible for the best in class mileage. The refinement of Honda's engine is once again unmatched and turned out to be the best amongst all. Features

Honda Dream CD 110 is the most basic bike amongst the three, it is essentially a "Dream Neo" devoid of the self start option and having silver color alloy wheels with the same silver color on the engine, the bike is also featured with the basic instrument console.

TVS Star City Plus comes next with stylish dual instrument cluster, with digital odometer. The bike also comes with all black alloy wheels mated with the matte black finish on the engine.

Mahindra Centuro is the bike equipped with the most features one can ever imagine in a bike till now. The Centuro has list of features that is sufficient to put any bike in a premium class segment. It has class first Remote key feature with built-in anti theft alarm system. The bike also has the feature of "find me" which comes handy when parked in crowded parking. Pricing

The Honda Dream CD 110 is the cheapest of all and is available at the price tag of Rs.41,100 (ex-showroom, Delhi), TVS Star City Plus comes next and is available at Rs.44,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Mahindra Centuro with its loads of features comes at very attractive price tag of Rs.45,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Verdict

It was a tough fight between Mahindra Centuro and TVS Star City Plus as far as value for money and features are concerned. TVS Star City Plus beats the Centuro by very close margin with the help of its value for money preposition and after sale service. Now the real competition left is between the Honda Dream CD 110 and the TVS Star City Plus. The Honda Dream CD 110 is a no nonsense bike with great value for money, fantastic mileage and reliability of Honda which is why the Honda Dream CD 110 is a clear winner in this comparo. TVS Apache RTR 160 4V ABS– The best 160cc bike?

Feb 22, 2019
TVS always take their sweet time whenever they want to launch a new product. However, the new Apache RTR 160 4v was launched much earlier than expected. The Supreme court’s mandatory ABS rule is obviously to be given credit here.

Why TVS Apache RTR 160 is outselling every 160 cc bike

Oct 11, 2018
Recently TVS sold 1 Lakh Apache RTR 160 4v and all of this was achieved in just a span of 6 months. With such a huge accomplishment, one must wonder, what is exactly the reason behind it. If we look closely, then there are a lot of them.

Myth Buster- TVS Apache RTR 200 4v Reaches 150+ Km/h [Video]

Oct 3, 2018
I love the TVS Apache RTR 200, especially its race spec, 2.0 model. The bike is smooth, grunty and lightweight for all intents and purposes. The highway stability of the bike is also really good, thanks to the 37 mm forks. The top speed of this bike is around 130 km/h on a good day but a guy has managed to take it beyond 150 km/h in his top speed test. You can see the video-

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V First Ride Review

Sep 20, 2018
The impact of the new 4-Valve counterbalanced engine is easily visible. According to many reviewers, the bike vibrates. I, however, find this statement to be untrue. There is a clear distinction between a slight buzz and the so-called “Vibrations”, a term which people use to describe almost every single cylinder bike.

TVS Radeon Vs Hero Splendor- Comparo

Sep 11, 2018
It is the battle of the century. The fight which will make or break empires. These are the two Titans which will carry their kings to the true heights of glory. I mean kidding aside, it’s these type of motorcycles which actually bring in the sales for the company. The whole cycle of R&D depends upon these bikes, more on that some other time. Today let’s compare the TVS Radeon and Hero Splendor. But since performance isn’t the forte of these motorcycles, we will compare them on the basis of "For they will be bought". Let’s begin.
