Benelli TNT 15- A Strong Competitor In 150cc Class

  • Jun 16, 2015
  • |   Comments
We all ready know that 150cc segment is India is generating a lot of heat at present and we can blame Suzuki Gixxer and refreshed Yamaha FZ-S version 2.0 for their superb and muscular looks which look almost like a 200cc motorcycle. People are attracted towards 150cc segment for great looks, decent power & mileage, and motorcycle manufacturers know that. Every motorcycle manufacturer is trying to capture this segment with lots of option.

Now the interesting news is that Benelli which made it's debut recently is going to launch their 150cc motorcycle which they call TNT 15 in India. Benelli launched their series of motorcycle but they missed the 150cc class, which they launch soon. TNT 15 is a good looking motorcycle, its headlamp resembles to the one we have seen on KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390. The TNT 15 is a muscular naked motorcycle accompanied by 148cc air cooled single cylinder engine with 2-valve which produces estimated 16 Ps of power, now that is some interesting amount of power, though it is 1 Ps lesser than the recently launched 150cc motorcycle from Bajaj 'Pulsar AS150' but rest all 150cc produces lesser power than TNT 15. The bike is equipped with tubeless 90/90-17 profile tyre on front and 110/90-17 at rear, with disc brakes available on front wheels only.

Seems we are going to see an ingesting fight in the 150cc segment. With the launch of TNT 15, the naked Gixxer and FZ-S V2 will get a serious rival, though we can't say the same about Pulsar 150 and Apache 160 as they both don't want to change their designs but get refreshed. Although Pulsar 150 and Apache 160 are being sold in good numbers but the near future is going to be tough. We all know that Pulsar 150NS is coming soon and will continue selling along with older Pulsar 150. So let's see how TNT 15 makes its presence in this cruel 150cc segment with the presence of naked Gixxer, FZ-S V2 and the upcoming Pulsar 150NS. If Benelli is successful in pricing this 150cc beast competitively (between 85k-95k) and offers a good after sales service, this is going to be a hit.

What do you think about this muscular 150cc Benelli motorcycle? please give your views on the comment section.

Oct 21, 2017
I'm a huge fan of WWE, and I would like to relate this match to a match that happened at Wrestlemania 33, Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt, where the R3 is Undertaker and the Tornado 302R is Bray the new person in the lot competing against the legend of the segment. So like how the Undertaker defeated Bray in Wrestlemania let us see if R3 can beat the Tornado 302R. Even though the Undertaker and R3 have retired for a while, they both are still spoken about in the market.

The Benelli brand in India was known for all the naked motorcycles they produce. The TNT 300 was initially brought into the market as an entry level superbike, a 300cc naked which was known for the pleasing exhaust note it produces. Feb 22, 2019
TVS always take their sweet time whenever they want to launch a new product. However, the new Apache RTR 160 4v was launched much earlier than expected. The Supreme court’s mandatory ABS rule is obviously to be given credit here.
