2015 Sepang GP Race Report-
Are Valentino Rossi's Title Aspirations Gone?
It all started in the pre-race press conference on Thursday, where Valentino Rossi openly criticized Marc Marquez for helping out Jorge Lorenzo in Australia and deliberately slowed him down in order to let Lorenzo break away at the front.
Marco grew up on the tracks, learning things quickly and evolving to be one of the most threatening factor ever in the racing world. He was a fighter, who always adapts to the environment quicker than a chameleon changes its color.
After a grueling duo of races at Japan and Australia, the MotoGP paddock flies to Malaysia for Round 17 of the MotoGP World championship. Sepang has been on the GP calendar since 1999, deciding many World titles across various sporting events.
Shaft drives are something that you don’t really see that often in bikes today, but back in the day, it was a huge deal. There was a very good reason for it though. Shaft drives are something that is good to have on your bikes, period. Yes, today there are chain and belt drives available, but still there is something about shaft drives that make them so much special.
As we know, the FIM and Dorna sports has changed the rules for 2016 and beyond in both technical and team strategies. 2016 will see Michelin taking over as the sole tire manufacturer and the debut of 17" rims, along with intermediate tires which is similar to those used in F1.
The 27 laps race kicks off at Phillip Island with Iannone leading the race through turn 1 followed by Lorenzo, Marquez and rest of the racers. Soon Lorenzo overtakes Iannone at turn 8 and is now the race leader. In the second lap, however, Iannone gets back on and takes over the lead from Lorenzo with Lorenzo behind him, followed by Dani Pedrosa, Marc Marquez, Cal Crutchlow and Valentino Rossi.
Hero MotoCorp has added the “Edge” to the already existing male centric scooter Maestro; the new Maestro Edge has received not only the complete makeover but also numerous features to compete with the likes of TVS Jupiter, Mahindra Gusto, Yamaha Fascino and Honda Activa 3G.
Unlike cars, bikes are pretty basic when it comes to giving out information to the rider on the go. Today even the most basic cars come equipped with the most sophisticated fuel gauge readings and also monitor a car’s fuel consumption according to the riding style and give out the distance to empty readings and even real time fuel consumption numbers. All these are not easily available on many bikes. The KTM has introduced these features in their Duke and RC bikes, but that is all we have in India as of now. The rest is only provided in the high end bikes today.
A biker’s life can be a funny one sometimes. We have come across some mad bikers who refuse to lose and fight with the life as we know it. There are basically two type of bikers in the society.
No matter how hard you put your efforts, there are always certain things that go against you; it is especially applicable for the automobile industry where every other manufacturer is striving hard to get through in the cut throat competition.
